Are you still not sure what to do or where to go for Independence Day festivities around Wilmington, NC? Look no further! We have your short list of 5 things to kick off your Fourth of July Celebrations. Check out the Wilmington N.C. website for more details and other events going on in the area.
1. Fin-Dependence Day Fireworks
Bring out all of your favorite Sharks themed baseball gear to this event. Here, you can watch the Wilmington Sharks take on the Fayetteville Swamp Dogs on July 2nd at 7 p.m.
The gates for the game open an hour before the game starts and ticket prices range from $7 to $11. After the game, there will be a dazzling fireworks show for you and your family to enjoy!
2. Independence Day Fireworks by the Sea and Boardwalk Music
You can keep the festivities going the very next day! On July 3rd there will be a fireworks show on the Boardwalk at Carolina Beach. This crowd-pleasing event has been going on for over 40 years, so it will be sure to entertain everyone in the family! Bring out your beach blankets and chairs and set up on the beach to enjoy this show. If you come early enough you may be able to get a spot close to the gazebo where there will be live music by The Polar Bear Blues Band!
3. City of Wilmington Fourth of July Celebration
There can’t be a Fourth of July celebration without fireworks on the fourth! What better way to enjoy them than watching them over the Cape Fear River? On Independence Day head downtown at 9 p.m. to watch the beautiful fireworks display that the city puts on. Worried about parking? Check out the City of Wilmington’s website for all parking information for that day!
The Downtown Sundown Concert series are in full swing, and they are having a concert to start the weekend off right. Join the Hey Johnny Park band, a Foo Fighters tribute band in the Historic Downtown Wilmington from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to enjoy an experience like no other. This tribute band will put on an energetic show while you are able to enjoy being downtown with beer, wine, and food available to purchase.
5. Boogie in the Park Concert Series
To round out the weekend, head out to the Ocean Front Park at Kure Beach and enjoy some of the soulful blues music of David Dixon. He has been charming the people of Ocean Front Park for years! This event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. so bring your chairs, bug spray, and settle in for yet another amazing concert.
