Top Winter Activities Near Our Communities

A family enjoying winter activities near their Logan Homes community.

December 19, 2022

While the winter season throughout the breathtaking regions of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia might not always be filled with snow covered streets, there are plenty of activities near you that you can enjoy in order to experience the winter months to the fullest. At Logan Homes, we carefully placed all of our new home communities within highly sought-after locations, and one thing that we will always be able to guarantee is that our potential will always be able to find plenty of entertainment options for everyone to enjoy, no matter the season. With that in mind, read on to see which items you’ll need to add to your winter calendar list.

North Carolina

When we typically think of winter activities, it can sometimes be synonymous with holiday activities, and if that’s the case—packing up the car and heading to your local Christmas tree farm can make for a perfect afternoon filled with holiday cheer. At Bar Evergreens Christmas Trees & Pumpkin Patch, you’ll be able to pick out your favorite tree between the Fraser Fir, White Pine or Colorado Blue Spruce—or you can simply stroll through the scenery with your family in tow for a truly magical winter wonderland experience.

On the topic of Christmas trees, our residents in The Highlands at Boiling Spring Lakes are especially lucky this time of year as one of Brunswick County’s top holiday events continues until New Year’s Eve. The Festival of Trees is once again set up at the Museum of Coastal Carolina, and you won’t want to miss out on this stunning holiday display.

In our opinion, it wouldn’t be the winter season if ice skating wasn’t on the activity list, and with The Wilmington Ice House located just a short drive away from our Reserve at Beaumont Oaks, Salters Heaven and our upcoming Bridgewater Landing communities—you won’t have to travel far to enjoy your favorite seasonal activity.

South Carolina

While there are admittedly an abundance of reasons as to why homeowners love living within the beautiful state of South Carolina, the weather that graces the area each season of the year is usually at the top of that list. While the temperatures may be a bit more brisk than usual, the winter season is truly a magical time to explore the area, and there are a number of hiking trails that will catch your eye during the winter months. The Spanish Moss trail offers stunning views for any individuals hoping to get out and enjoy the fresh winter air, and as the trail is extremely close to our Camilla Banks new home community, you’ll be able to return to it as often as you like.

While we may not have an abundance of snow skiing destinations close by, for those who  are looking for something similar, water skiing is always available. Buying or renting a wetsuit is definitely a necessity for this particular activity, though, as the water is a bit cooler than usual in the months of December and January.

Georgia

Within the cultural hub that is Savannah, Georgia, the winter season is never one to miss, and throughout the winter months, you’ll be able to enjoy all of your favorite seasonal activities without ever having to travel too far from our Savannah Quarters new home community. Enjoy the magic of ice skating at the Savannah Civic Center or take in one of the firework displays that happen on the first Friday of every month and on New Year’s Eve. The Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens is another spot that always offers stunning views during the winter months as visitors take a scenic stroll through 10 acres of natural scenery.

Enjoy every season in your hometown
