Walk around the old battle mounds and soak in the history of this historic site, or check out the lightly trafficked 2.2 mile out and back Hermit trail.

Carolina Beach State Park
The Sugar Loaf trail is an excellent choice for an afternoon hike. This 3.4-mile loop trail takes you along the beautiful Cape Fear River, into the woods, and ends at a historic Native American Lookout, known as Sugar Loaf.
