The holiday season is a great time of the year. There are many days filled with joy, laughter, and most of all family. What better way to spend time with family than doing some fun Christmas activities? Below are a few activities in and around Wilmington that is sure to delight everyone in the family.
A Merry Little Christmas Festival
On December 22nd at the Poplar Grove Plantation gaze upon beautiful twinkling lights followed by some time getting cozy by the fire and enjoying some s’mores. There are even holiday activities that the kids will love. Enjoy strolling through the Grinch’s Toy Junk Shop and they even screen outdoor holiday movies!
Until December 22nd take a delightful stroll through Airlie Gardens to look at all of the wonderful holiday lights and flowers that they have! At the end of your walk you can visit with Santa!
Who doesn’t enjoy looking at beautiful Christmas lights, especially when it can give you some ideas for decorating your own home! Come out to the Bellamy Mansion on December 20th through the 22nd from 4 to 7 pm to gaze upon all of the Christmas lights they have put up around the Mansion. The event is free but they are accepting donations in order to maintain the preservation of this beautiful mansion for all future generations.
To finish off this holiday adventure, why not take a lovely cruise aboard the Wilmington. You will float down the Cape Fear River while enjoying the sounds of local musicals playing holiday classics. While listening to the music, you can savor the tastes of Christmas cocktails and different hors d’oeuvres.
