Fall Home Maintenance Recommendations

As the days get shorter and cooler temperatures settle in, please take some time to check on the following homeowner maintenance recommendations to keep your home happy and healthy!

• Have a plan in place for the remainder of hurricane season
• Inspect caulking & exterior paint and touch up where needed
• Lubricate garage door tracks/rollers and tighten bolts as needed
• Replace return air filters
• Clean and test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
• Make certain outdoor HVAC compressor is clear of debris
• Check HVAC condensate pan in attic and confirm condensate line is not clogged
• Pour water down drains of infrequently used sinks and showers. As drain water      evaporates, sewer odors can seep into the house
• Wash windows and screens and clean drainage holes of debris
• Clean gutters and downspouts drains
• Look for settling of backfill soils and fill in where needed

• Adjust and maintain your irrigation system for the season
