The kitchen is the heart of the home and with today’s open floor plans, much of a home’s style will be determined by the design decisions made in the kitchen…. but what style to choose?  Here on the Carolina Coast, many of our homeowners choose a light, contemporary, coastal vibe for their home.

Instead of starting from scratch, many will draw inspiration from our model homes and copy the model selections or just tweak them slightly to personalize their own space.  Here’s a recap of some of the most popular kitchen styles we are seeing in the areas Logan Homes builds:

Gray Color Scheme

Our all-time most copied kitchen features white cabinets on the cooktop wall which keep the room light and airy, combined with a gray-stained island to anchors the space.  A gorgeous, highly patterned gray quartz adds drama and dimension to the space and is perfectly complimented by a greige tumble-stoned tile backsplash.  Warm gray wall paint and gray stained knotty acacia hardwoods compliment cabinets and countertops while drawing the gray into other areas of the home.

Navy Blue Base Cabinets

For those wanting to add a fun neutral color that is easy to work with, navy blue has been all the rage.  Specifying navy blue for all kitchen base cabinets or just the kitchen island cabinets is practical, while white wall cabinets keep the room feeling bright.  Navy is an easy way to add a coastal flare as most blues and sea glass colored décor will pair well with this neutral as seen in the kitchen below showcasing navy blue base cabinets.

All White Kitchen

A Coastal look that will never go out of style is an all-white kitchen.  The crisp and clean look of white cabinetry and counters paired with natural wood floors is a classic look, ensuring a kitchen will never give off a dated feel.  The kitchen below utilized white quartz countertops which are a durable option despite their light color.  A marble herringbone backsplash gives off a luxurious feel and adds a subtle layer of visual texture, while still allowing the space to feel light and clean.

Black and White Combo

Another trending looks is a white kitchen with pops of black which lends itself to the contemporary farmhouse feel.  There are many ways in incorporate black into the kitchen without darkening the space.  The kitchen below sticks with the ever-popular white cabinets and utilizes black granite on the perimeter countertops, black grout in the subway tile backsplash, black cabinet hardware and faucet finish and black paint on the pantry door to tie bits of black accent evenly throughout the room.

White with Warm Accents

For a warmer feel, pairing white with tans is a great option.  The kitchen below is bright because of white perimeter cabinets and white countertops yet warm because of the khaki color featured on the island cabinets.  Warm tones from the hardwoods and sand tones from the walls pull the warm grays out of the backsplash.
